Cal Poly Humboldt is home to the largest undergraduate Forestry and Fire programs in California. Our program prides itself on a strong tradition of field-based instruction and hands-on learning of forest, fire, and rangeland science and management. The ideal candidate will have a depth of experience in the application of fire as a management tool and be able to integrate these skills in teaching, service, and research.
Tenure Track Faculty - Department of Computer Science (Software Engineering) Humboldt
Cal Poly Humboldt’s Department of Computer Science invites applicants for two (2) academic-year tenure- track faculty positions in Software Engineering. The Department is launching a new Software Engineering major in Fall 2023 as part of the programmatic expansion for California’s third polytechnic university. At its core, our Software Engineering program will prioritize and teach “Software for Good” in which software is used to address societal problems and improve task efficiency. We are seeking candidates with a background in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related field, with the ability and willingness to teach core Software Engineering courses listed below under Professional Duties. Candidates will also have the opportunity to teach existing Computer Science courses as well as develop elective courses.
Tenure Track Faculty - School of Engineering (Cluster Hire Group) Humboldt
Cal Poly Humboldt invites applicants for a cluster hire to support our growing set of Engineering programs. The focus of this search is Mechanical Engineering and Energy Systems Engineering faculty. We are targeting the hiring of four (4) faculty members in this cluster with priority areas described in more detail below. The rank (Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor) is open and depends on the experience of the applicant. New Programs: The Engineering department will launch three (3) new programs in Fall 2023 at Cal Poly Humboldt: Energy Systems Engineering (B.S.), Mechanical Engineering (B.S.), and Engineering and Community Practice (M.Eng). These will join our existing program in Environmental Resources Engineering (B.S.) and two options in the Environmental Systems master’s program (M.S.): Environmental Resources Engineering and Energy, Technology, and Policy. New faculty will be able to contribute to multiple programs if applicable. 
Tenure Track Faculty - Department of Biological Sciences (Marine Phycology) Humboldt
Cal Poly Humboldt and the Department of Biological Sciences invite applicants for a tenure track faculty position specializing in Marine Phycology. Cal Poly Humboldt has a large and growing Marine Biology program and is home to one of the largest undergraduate Botany programs in the nation, which prides itself on a strong traditional focus on organismal biology of plant, fungal, and algal groups. The study of marine algae is highly relevant to both the Marine Biology and Botany programs. The ideal candidate will conduct research that uses contemporary methods in phycology and will integrate that with teaching that emphasizes the diversity of marine algae and their importance to the fields of marine biology and botany.

2022 Annual Security Report

Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act, the 2022 Annual Security Report (ASR) is now available for viewing at https://clery.humboldt.edu/sites/default/files/cal_poly_humboldt_2022_annual_security_report.pdf. The ASR contains the current security and safety-related policy statements, emergency preparedness and evacuation information, crime prevention and sexual assault prevention information, and information about drug and alcohol prevention programming. The ASR also contains statistics of Clery crimes for Cal Poly Humboldt for 2019, 2020, and 2021. 2021 Annual Fire Safety Report

Pursuant to the Higher Education Opportunity Act, the 2021 Annual Fire Safety Report (AFSR) is now available for viewing at https://housing.humboldt.edu/sites/default/files/annual_fire_safety_report_for_housing_2021.pdf. The purpose of this report is to disclose statistics for fires that occurred within Cal Poly Humboldt's housing facilities for 2018, 2019, and 2020, and to distribute fire safety policies and procedures intended to promote safety on campus.
