Aventura Math Camp Lead Channel Islands
Aventura Math Camp Lead - The Camp Lead is responsible for the well-being of all students during Math Camp. Specifically, the role of the Camp Lead is to support all teaching and learning activities while ensuring the smooth running of all camp activities. Aventura Math Camp Stem Teacher Channel Islands
Aventura Math Camp (AMC) is an innovative educational initiative that serves middle-school students from underserved communities in Ventura County, particularly those from Mixtec and other agricultural worker families. This free, four-week summer program introduces students to STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) through joyful, hands-on learning, with a special focus on mathematics as a creative and powerful tool for problem-solving. CSU Channel Islands hosts AMC in partnership with Oxnard College while collaborating with regional schools, districts, and non-profit organizations. Aventura Math Camp STEM Teachers - Experienced in-service STEM teachers are responsible for leading or facilitating sessions during Math Camp and supporting AMC Scholars and Interns during Math Camp.
Sponsored Programs Specialist (Pre and Post Award) East Bay
Under the general direction of the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs' (ORSP) Director of Grant Administration, the Sponsored Programs Specialist is responsible for supporting proposal development and grant award management including compliance that nurtures institutional systems to expand the University's capacity to attract external funding for the advancement of its mission and strategic commitments. The Sponsored Programs Specialist assists the AVP of ORSP and Principal Investigators (Pis) with identifying grant opportunities that align with internal resources, expertise, and priorities. This role also assists faculty with the timely submission of proposals to external entities including non-governmental/private foundations and responds to queries from all sponsors including private sponsors by collaborating with the University Advancement team. This position will handle both pre- and post-award duties as assigned by the Director of Grant Administration. Duties include transitioning awards from the pre-award phase to the post award phase, which includes: reviewing incoming funding notices, awards, and agreements, performing compliance checks, and transitioning a complete package to the ORSP post-award team. Additionally, this position will manage awards as a post-award personnel for a few grants that are assigned. Other duties as assigned may include, but are not limited to: communicating information, updating, maintaining, compiling, and preparing written procedures and other relevant documents. This position will support the ORSP day-to-day functions by contributing to the efforts, such as, but not limited to: data collection, compliance, and award closeout of all grants including non-governmental/private grants to support the functioning of ORSP.
